Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Manager will oversee and manage the entire billing cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role requires expertise in coding, problem-solving, and leadership to support the team and drive the organization’s financial success, with specialized experience in claims for cellular tissue (skin graft) products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the coding and abstracting of patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information, including cellular tissue (skin graft) products.
- Conduct analysis to ensure accurate documentation and data needed for reimbursement.
- Audit clinical documentation to verify alignment with billed services and regulatory requirements.
- Assign appropriate codes for reimbursements, research, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a resource and subject matter expert to the coding staff and care providers.
- Research, analyze, and correct documentation discrepancies while implementing preventative measures for future coding errors.
- Manage claim releases and oversee the billing team’s operations to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Generate and review accounts receivable (A/R) reports, addressing issues to improve collections.
- Provide software support and training for the billing team, including standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor clearinghouse reports to ensure clean claim submissions and address rejections.
- Perform revenue cycle management tasks such as timely filing, optimizing collections, and resolving denied or rejected claims.
- Set up and maintain EDI and ERA processes, ensuring CMS compliance and addressing off-label billing.
- Lead special projects as assigned and contribute to the continuous improvement of the revenue cycle process.
Requirements:
- Extensive understanding of medical and billing terminology.
- Expertise in coding and processing claims for cellular tissue (skin graft) products.
- Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Experience in payment posting (preferred).
- Coding experience is required; CPC certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- At least 7 years of experience in a medical office or similar setting.
- Knowledge of billing and coding in a long-term care environment.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated accountability, professionalism, and a proactive attitude toward change and innovation.
- Proficiency in using billing software applications.
