Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Description: Nurse Practitioner to see sleep medicine patients in our Farmington, NM clinic. This is a part-time position 6-10 hours weekly. One to two days a week. Training provided.
Responsibilities include:
Under the general supervision of a physician (off-site), provide care to new and follow-up patients using established and approved protocols as required by AASM standards.
Conduct history, minimal physical exam, diagnostic reasoning, write prescriptions for PAP therapy and Oxygen therapy as warranted.
Collaborate with the patient, family members and other members of the healthcare team to review the plan of care and reach the best possible outcome.
Educate patients on the available treatments and the associated side effects.
Document all services and orders in patient’s electronic medical record.
Communicate with referring physicians to facilitate ongoing care as needed.
Participate in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
Assist in the resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients and/or their families.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education/Licensure/Certifications:
Graduate of Accredited School offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP) and current, unrestricted New Mexico NP license and unrestricted New Mexico Board of Pharmacy license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to relate to patients, their families, and members of the healthcare team in a tactful and professional manner
Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles.
Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment
Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette
Ability to provide medical services within the scope of licensing and training
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $75.00 - $79.80 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
License/Certification:
