AIR CARGO POWERHOUSE is looking for an Assistant General Manager to supervise day-to-day shipping operations. This high-visibility role works hand-in-hand with the GM to ensure the safety, growth, success, and financial health of the facility, which engages in loading, unloading, sorting and organization of shipments. Cargo travels between trucks, airplanes, and warehouses, and must be handled promptly and safely to meet delivery deadlines and flight schedules.
Responsibilities :
Manage direct reports responsible for several hundred associates in a 24 / 7 airport cargo facility.
Provide adequate resources to meet cargo volume and client KPIs / requirements.
Measure KPIs and make necessary adjustments.
Enforce safety and security protocols and help with investigations.
Adhere to TSA, OSHA and other laws and regulations.
Prepare operational data and financial reports for internal and external analysis.
Communicate regularly with customers and upper management.
Review departmental and client SOPs for continuous process improvement.
Interview, hire, train, coach, review, and discipline.
Cultivate a positive, supportive, and high-performing environment.
Requirements :
Management experience in a similar, fast-paced logistics environment.
Command of air cargo operations and logistics safety protocols.
Participate in goal-setting, implementation, testing and corrections. Understands the day-to-day and willing to pitch in to meet deadlines.
Visionary, proactive and meets challenges to fulfill company goals.
Comfortable with spreadsheets, MS Excel, reports and data analysis.
Relationship builder with colleagues, clients and vendors of all levels.
Willing to work outside of traditional business hours / days as needed.
