What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customs Entry Writer position at PINTO EMPLOYMENT SEARCH, LLC?
Successful international freight forwarder / Customs broker is looking to add an Entry Writer to their Chicago team!
Main Responsibilities :
Submit ISF and Customs entries for ocean LCL / FCL, air, and international trucking shipments.
Provide timely information for expedited clearance and avoidance of penalties.
Verify release of shipments / holds and update all concerned.
Handle exams and holds from Customs and other agencies.
Comply with all laws, regulations and procedures.
Arrange delivery to final destination and obtain proof of delivery.
Make note of financial transactions per shipment.
Prepare billing / invoicing and resolve discrepancies.
Participate in audits for accuracy and timeliness.
Main Requirements :
Approximately 2-3 years of entry writing experience.
Knowledge of documentation, INCO terms, HTS classification, and other industry practices.
Proficient with Customs software and MS Office.
Able to communicate effectively with customers, government agencies, vendors, and other business partners.
Resourceful problem-solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
