Successful international freight forwarder / Customs broker is looking to add an Entry Writer to their Chicago team! This dynamic role is more than just submitting entries - it's handling each customer in your care from start to finish.
Main Responsibilities :
Prepare quotations for all services and fees.
Submit ISF and Customs entries for ocean LCL / FCL, air, and international trucking shipments.
Provide timely information for expedited clearance and avoidance of penalties.
Verify release of shipments / holds and update all concerned.
Handle exams and holds from Customs and other agencies.
Comply with all laws, regulations and procedures.
Arrange delivery to final destination and obtain proof of delivery.
Make note of financial transactions per shipment.
Prepare billing / invoicing and resolve discrepancies.
Participate in audits for accuracy and timeliness.
Main Requirements :
Approximately 5 years of recent Customs brokerage experience.
Current knowledge of documentation, INCO terms, duties, HTS classification, and other industry practices.
Proficient with Customs software and MS Office.
Enjoys collaboration with colleagues, clients, government agencies, vendors, and other business partners.
