What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR and Administrative Coordinator position at Pinwheel Healing Center, LCC?
Pinwheel Healing Center LLC is a behavioral health agency dedicated to compassionate, community-centered care. The work we do begins with people—our clients, our clinicians, and the team behind the scenes that keeps everything grounded and supported. We're looking for an HR & Administrative Coordinator to help us continue building a workplace rooted in clarity, care, and consistency.
This is a full-time, in-person role based at either our Albuquerque, Taos or Ruidoso, New Mexico location. You'll be stepping into a key position that supports the entire staff—from clinicians to administrative team members—by managing HR operations, onboarding new employees, and maintaining the integrity of our policies and internal systems.
What this role involves is much more than paperwork. You'll be guiding new staff through their first steps with Pinwheel, making sure they feel informed and welcomed. That means handling the onboarding process from start to finish: collecting all necessary documentation, explaining our internal policies and procedures, and walking new hires through the employee handbook so they know exactly what to expect and how we work together as a team.
You'll also be responsible for maintaining accurate and legally compliant HR files, ensuring we're always in alignment with state and federal requirements. From tracking licensure and credentials to keeping our internal documentation up to date, you'll be the person who keeps our HR records clear, correct, and ready when needed.
In addition, you'll be expected to learn and stay current with all of our internal policies, procedures, and handbook updates. You'll help ensure that not only are we meeting legal standards, but also that our internal practices reflect our values as an organization. You'll work closely with the CEO, providing updates and supporting HR decisions with a strong foundation of knowledge and care.
We're looking for someone who brings at least three years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in a healthcare or behavioral health setting. You should be confident working with employee files, familiar with HR compliance laws, and capable of managing a range of HR and administrative tasks independently. If you're highly organized, naturally detail-oriented, and someone who enjoys creating structure that helps people succeed, you may be a great fit here.
We offer a competitive salary, health and dental insurance, paid time off, and a supportive environment where your work directly impacts the well-being of our team and the clients we serve. There's room to grow here, and your voice and efforts will be valued. This position can be done either in Taos, Raton, or Ruidoso, where we have physical locations. This is an in person position and may require some travel to our other locations.
