Job Title: Chief Inspector
Location: Chicago, IL
Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Inspector to lead the operations of our quality and inspection departments. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and meeting customer requirements. The Chief Inspector will report directly to the President and work collaboratively to maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with CFR Part 65 certification requirements for repair station operations.
- Direct and manage quality control and inspection operations.
- Oversee the maintenance departments adherence to established quality standards and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage revisions to company manuals and documentation.
- Respond promptly to requests for inspection of the PTL certificate.
- Supervise work conducted outside the fixed PTL location to ensure adherence to internal procedures.
- Implement, revise, and monitor electronic recordkeeping systems and manuals.
- Ensure tools and equipment, including personal technician tools, undergo proper calibrations and checks.
- Review and approve maintenance records for accuracy and completeness before final return-to-service approval.
- Maintain up-to-date calibration records in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Qualify and approve maintenance contractors and maintain related documentation.
- Develop initial and recurrent training programs for maintenance personnel.
- Maintain employment qualifications and training records.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the PTL training program to meet evolving needs.
- Approve PTL self-evaluations for capability expansion.
- Manage personnel rosters to reflect accurate job duties and organizational changes.
- Conduct internal quality audits and oversee corrective action processes.
- Coordinate with the Accountable Manager on corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
- Ensure all inspections (incoming, hidden damage, preliminary, in-process, and final) comply with company procedures.
- Train, supervise, and assist all personnel operating under the PTL certificate.
- Maintain proficiency in inspection methods, techniques, and equipment relevant to the role.
- Review and approve AMOC requests and ensure accurate completion of FAA Form 337.
Qualifications:
- Preferred - FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate
- Minimum requirement - FAA Airframe mechanic certificate
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
