Detailer

Pioneer Chevrolet in Abingdon, VA is looking for one detailer to join our 44 person strong team. We are located on 1135 W. Main St.. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and hard-working. This position is full time 40 hours a week Monday-Friday and rotate Saturdays.

Responsibilities and essential functions

EXPERIENCE IS A MUST

• Auto detailing position requires skill and knowledge of reconditioning and prepping trade-in vehicles for resale. Candidate must have experience in wet sanding, buffing and polishing with orbital and conventional rotary polisher and have the ability to transform a trade in into a retail ready car in a timely manner.
• Must be able to remove interior of vehicles and reassemble as needed.
• Doing body shop and service cars in a timely manner in between full details.
•  Preparing and cleaning new vehicles for customer delivery and shop detail.
• Ability to distinguish small imperfections in your work, such as, streaks left on windows, smudges on windows or painted surfaces, areas of missed vacuuming, etc.
• Clean engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents
• Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows, and wipes down doorjambs
• Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris
• Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices
• Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
• Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation. Communicates all defects to manager.

Qualifications

• Must have 1-2 years of experience.
• Must have a excellent attention to detail
• Must be able to buff
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Ability to follow instructions
• Must be on time and ready to work at 8AM
