JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist
FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs weekly)
Shift: 0830-1700 Mon-Fri (Days)
Reports to: Manager of Clinic Operations
Location: Pioneer Family Practice – Lacey, WA
Pay Range: $18.56 - $27.72 hourly
Position Summary:
The Medical Receptionist is the face of the clinic and the first point of contact for patients and their families. The position is responsible for maintaining daily front office operations with a warm, compassionate, and helpful attitude. These responsibilities include tasks and duties associated with registration, scheduling appointments, answering phones, collecting demographics, collecting co-pays, and capturing accurate health insurance information.
Job Description:
1. Check-in/register patients in a timely and effective manner utilizing multiple methods of communication. Obtain all required patient registration information and ensures correct and accurate data is in the patients’ medical record.
2. Schedules and communicates with patients regarding their appointments or follow-up information regarding their care utilizing multiple forms of communication.
3. Performs daily tasks utilizing multi-phoneline systems, fax, email, mail, and EMR messaging system.
4. Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills and interacts efficiently with patients, customers, and peers in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
5. Collects co-pay’s, deductibles, un-paid balances, and payments due for services rendered in our practice and coordinate payment plans or financial assistance as needed. Discuss and educate all financial responsibility to the patient that relates to their care.
6. Complies with all state and federal regulations as well as all clinic policies.
7. Communicates with all departments both within the clinic as well as outside healthcare facilities/organizations.
8. Actively participates in all clinic/staff meetings and required education opportunities.
9. Meets all quality and performance metrics, completes all daily tasks, and self corrects all errors.
10. May perform additional duties within the clinic that align with current certifications/licenses and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education: Highschool Diploma or GED
Experience: Exceptional customer services and interpersonal skills required. Patient Access, medical billing, or related healthcare administrative experience preferred.
Knowledge: Thorough understanding of office operations and computer systems.

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.56 - $27.72 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
