As a progressive financial institution, we are seeking a dynamic individual to fulfill the role of Branch Manager for our Caldwell, Idaho Branch.
This position is responsible for managing, motivating, coaching and supporting branch team members. Also responsible for achieving team goals and growth objectives related to member growth and retention, branch deposits, branch loans, and product/service solutions. The Branch Manager will ensure that members are being greeted and provided "WOW" service promptly and professionally. The Branch Manager will direct and coordinate the activities of personnel in the Credit Union facility to make sure the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth goals.
The Manager is responsible for supervising branch operations on a day to day basis and maintaining a line of communication with the Regional Manager on any pertinent items. Also ensures that all established policies and procedures are followed. The Branch Manager trains, directs, and proactively manages all branch personnel. Conducts interviews and hiring practices according to Pioneers standards. Maintains a professional business appearance, and continually delivers Pioneers brand through service, appearance, and attention to branch look and feel.
The manager assists or oversees members and potential members with their financial needs; explains services, sets up new accounts, responds to problems, assists members with their loan applications; processes loan disbursements, and seek the assists of appropriate departments. Matches Credit Union services and products to members needs, and proactively seek new business with members or potential members by utilizing and participating in community events. All branches will have monthly goals and will be held accountable to those goals.
Responsible for offering and explaining electronic and video services for members convenience. Must be proficient with Pioneers electronic channels to include, but not limited to, home banking, mobile banking, and myPioneer Personal Assistant products. Also, will provide a variety of paying and receiving functions, including processing deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, cashiers checks, money orders, and cash advances. Verifies that signatures are correct, that written and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient funds. Balances each days transactions and verifies cash totals. Performs specific assigned side-jobs and assists other team members with a variety of duties.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities include:
- Will complete on the spot coaching with each team member to help staff with areas of development and to ensure a high service standard is held. Meets regularly with the branch team to discuss their performance and development. Ensures the team is trained to be relationship driven and not transaction driven. Accountable for reaching assigned monthly goals for the branch. The Manager needs to lead by example and sets high expectations for positive behavior and attitude.
- Monitors the quality and quantity of the teams work to maintain both efficiency and compliance within organizational policies, procedures, and objectives. Coordinates the opening and closing of the building in accordance with set hours. Ensure that the branch is cash ordering correctly for all machines and vaults. Tests security equipment as required. Tracks individual team members progress and conducts performance appraisals. Formulates and implements corrective disciplinary actions in coordination with the Regional Manager and HR.
- Utilize a variety of communication methods to assist and resolve member and team member situations. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. This requires a dedication to follow-up, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Assists members with opening and closing accounts, answers questions about product and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve. Identifies opportunities and matches members needs to credit unions products and services to establish relationships. Takes member loan applications and prepares them for review by an underwriter. Follows up with the underwriters to determine status. Works with centralized loan processors to ensure the loan is closed correctly, timely, and disbursed.
- Network within communities to find and attract new business to broaden the Credit Union membership base. Ensure sales staff achieves pre-determined sales goals around credit union products and services. Responsible for proactively coaching staff around established sales goals or objectives; and to hold staff accountable for their achievement, by doing so the credit union will meet the needs of the members while leading to revenue enhancement for the credit union.
- Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; verifies that signatures are correct, that written and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient funds. Sells money orders, cashiers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed and within credit union policies. Balances daily transactions and ensures that cash recycler inventory is correct at closing. Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services. Answers questions and helps team members.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED
Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work involves motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills: This position requires excellent public relations skills, knowledge of Credit Union services and products, organizational skills to ensure the proper recording and dissemination of required information. Efficiency and accuracy, as well as professionalism in communication, is vital to the successful execution of this position.
