What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Home Administrator position at Pioneer Health Care Management Inc?
As the leader of the facility, the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) is expected to assure that the facility operates in compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times while providing person-centered care.
Responsibilities
Implements policies, rules, and procedures for the facility as established by the Governing Body.
Monitors facility processes, practices, physical plant condition, and resource availability to assure that the facility is in a state of continuous compliance.
Establish and maintain facility committees to implement policies, assure compliance with regulations, and provide safe and high-quality care to the facility’s residents.
Develop and implement the facility QAPI plan focusing on required reporting metrics, and high risk/high volume/problem prone processes.
Complete the facility assessment, review annually, revise when dictated based on changes in resident composition/needs and submit to the governing body annually and whenever revised.
Recruit and retain nursing home staff members to assure that adequate staff is available to provide resident care, to maintain the facility in good repair, and to perform the administrative functions necessary to support the facility.
Assure that facility staff members receive training necessary to perform their duties in a safe, effective and compliant manner.
Provides input to the operating budget based on the facility assessment and maintains compliance with the established budget.
Recommends and prioritizes capital improvements, including major equipment and renovations
Maintains the facility census at or above budget targets by promoting the facility with referral sources and prospective residents/families, and participating in ACOs and preferred provider networks.
Communicates with residents and families on a regular basis to assure that needs and expectations are being met or exceeded.
Addresses concerns or grievances raised by residents or family members in a timely manner, assesses issues with potential for recurrence or impact on other residents and refers these issues for QAPI.
Works with clinical staff to create a plan of care for each resident and to oversee residents' progress and condition.
Oversees the billing of residents for services rendered and the collection of private billings.
Deciding when to send residents to other health care facilities, such as hospitals and rehabilitation centers.
Making regular reports to the nursing home's governing body including quality metrics, survey activity, budget compliance
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold a current State of Michigan NHA License
Bachelor’s Degree in related fields preferred
Two years Nursing Home Administrator experience preferred
