Role and Responsibilities
Primarily responsible for leading and coordinating a team for production focusing on LCCMR funded Prairie Sportsman content. Responsibilities include: developing ideas for new programs, building relationships with production funders & partners, with stations that carry Prairie Sportsman, and with the entire team helping produce the series. Sourcing stories based on conservation, science, researching and writing scripts for the show and executing new media initiatives. Develop content for multiple platforms and uses including broadcast, web-based delivery, education materials and promotion.
- Supervise all aspects of content production from development of initial concept to delivery to the audience.
- Write, research, and produce programs for Pioneer PBS broadcast and other content delivery systems
- Work with other producers, videographers, editors, writers, researchers, narrators, web designers, underwriters, and others in a collaborative approach to deliver high-quality content to Pioneer audiences
- Work with underwriting staff and prospective funders to expand the base of program support
- Develop, maintain, and track legacy production budgets in consultation with Pioneer’s Director of Finance, GM, others on Pioneer staff
- Maintain compliance with appropriate rules and regulations, including those specific to LCCMR funded activities as specified by the Minnesota Legislature and Department of Administration, FCC regulations, and Pioneer production guidelines
- Lead Prairie Sportsman production team or teams consisting of existing staff and free-lance workers
- Collaborate with other members of the Pioneer management team to incorporate LCCMR productions into other Pioneer activities
- Work with peers at other MPTA stations on collaborative projects as needed
- Participate in Pioneer events and station-wide projects
- Travel for Pioneer production needs to production sites and meetings throughout the area
- Maintain a work schedule that is consistent with the needs of Pioneer, the production teams, with long hours as needed to complete productions, and as defined in consultation with your supervisor
- Develop related materials that “enhance, educate, or promote” the subject matter of Prairie Sportsman content.

- Editing and graphics skills, with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and the entire Adobe Suite
- The ability to write appropriately for TV, the web and other distribution systems
- Accuracy and attention to detail in reporting information for broadcast, budgeting for projects, and working with colleagues
- Excellent communication skills
- An even temperament, even when working under tight deadlines
- Willingness to work long hours on occasion

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
