Interviewing Experienced Natural Gas Compression Mechanics
The Compression Mechanic position is an advanced-level technician position that is responsible for setting, maintaining, repairing, and operating compressors in the field, and is considered a fully competent gas compressor technician. The position is also responsible for addressing non-routine issues and problem solving with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Perform proper preventative maintenance and repair, troubleshoot, maintain, and operate gas compression equipment using necessary hand and power tools in a safe manner
· Respond to problems by troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and adjusting or repairing equipment, as needed.
· Ensure field equipment is operating under current emissions guidelines and standards.
· Work safely with rotating equipment, extreme pressures, and temperatures.
· Fill out JSA’s and comply with company safety policies.
· Safely and efficiently set units and perform start-up procedures as well as assist in the disassembly and removal of unit from locations.
Qualifications
· Advanced knowledge of machines and tools including design, use, repair, and maintenance
· Basic knowledge of mathematical applications
· Advanced knowledge and experience with internal combustion engines and compressors used in the natural gas industry preferred
· General computer skills and capable of utilizing computer as an appropriate diagnostic tool
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to collaborate well in a team environment
· Self-aware, drive results, and values differences.
· Ability to make quality decisions based on data
· Ability to meet physical requirements of the job
· In depth knowledge and experience with Caterpillar 3306 and 3406 engines, Ariel and Gemini compressors, and GasJack compressors.
Work Schedule
This position is required to work overtime, nights, weekends, and some holidays based upon a predetermined work schedule. Typical operations run 24/7. Schedule may vary based on Field Operations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 80 – 90 per week
