Job Description:
We’re seeking a dedicated and proactive Control Room Operator to join our team in the heavy oil logistics industry. As part of our night shift crew, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of heavy oil. You'll work remotely and coordinate operations with various teams to monitor, communicate, and track logistics activities, ensuring all shipments and field activities are executed smoothly and on time. This position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate remotely with Supervisors, Field Staff, and other departments involved in the transportation and logistics of heavy oil, including maintenance, scheduling, and emergency response coordination.
- Handle inbound and outbound communications with company employees, vendors, and contractors to ensure smooth dispatching and coordination of oil transportation, while addressing any concerns or changes in real time.
- Maintain continuous communication with the next shift to ensure seamless transitions, covering any ongoing operational issues, challenges, or updates to logistics plans.
- Track, document, and report all activities and incidents during the night shift, maintaining a detailed log of operations for a smooth shift handover.
- Update work orders, monitor logistical workflows, and assist in scheduling to ensure all oil deliveries and field service requests are fulfilled on time.
- Ensure all required safety protocols and regulatory compliance measures are met during oil transportation activities.
- Work independently while also being an integral part of a collaborative remote team, ensuring all operational processes are followed and deadlines are met.
- Keep track of inventory, shipments, and delivery schedules, ensuring that all heavy oil logistics needs are met efficiently.
Requirements:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) and comfortable using other logistics or tracking software.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to handle stressful situations and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Previous experience in control rooms, dispatching, or within the oil and gas logistics sector is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, demonstrating reliability and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to the demands of a 5-10’s work schedule.
- A strong understanding of the safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards related to oil transportation and field operations.
