What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group CLS position at Pioneer Resources?
This is a full-time position that works on average 35-40 hours a week. Days and hours of work vary based on program needs. Programs provide services Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Summary
Community Living Supports (CLS) are used to increase or maintain personal self-sufficiency, facilitating an individual’s achievement of his/her goals of community inclusion and participation, independence or productivity. The supports may be provided in the participant’s residence or in community settings (including, but not limited to, libraries, city pools, camps, etc.). Examples of CLS services that can be provided include, meal preparation, laundry, routine seasonal and heavy household care and maintenance, money management, and socialization and relationship building.
Essential Functions
- Attend and participate in the Person Centered Planning (PCP) process when invited.
- Implement goals identified in the Person Centered Plans (PCP) and other plans a participant may have by providing assistance, reminders, observation, guiding and/or training.
- Record Service logs in Groveware each time a service is provided to a participant. Complete other paperwork/documentation as requested by the Group CLS Supervisor such as incident reports and Visa receipts and turn in requested paperwork in a timely manner as directed by the Group CLS Supervisor.
- Provide a culture of gentleness, dignity, respect, and a safe environment to all participants receiving Community Living Supports.
- Assure all participants are aware of their rights.
- Provide safe transportation from the program site to community activities, among community activities, and from the community activities back to the program site.
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and other meetings/In-services requested by the Group CLS Supervisor.
- This position includes assisting participants in and out of vehicles, using the wheelchair lift, if required and securing belts and restraints and driving the vehicle.
- A chauffer’s license is required. Staff are reimbursed for chauffer’s license if they do not have a prior one.
- Responsible to report vehicle maintenance needs to the Group CLS Supervisor
- Provide personal care as needed.

Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- The ability to read and write English, and the ability to comprehend written instructions and record information.
- The capacity to work in a team or independently with intermittent supervision.
- The ability to work respectfully and courteously with a wide variety of individuals.
- This employee will be required to successfully complete all required initial and update trainings.
- This position requires driving. Individuals must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, three (3) or more years of driving experience, less than six (6) points, and no exclusionary violations on driving record.
- Must pass all required background checks, physicals, and drug screens. If the background check reveals disqualifying information, employment shall be terminated unless the disqualifying information was successfully appealed as inaccurate, expunged or set aside.
Travel Requirements
75% or more Company vehicle is supplied.
Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Work Environment
This position works in close proximity to people. This position will work in a variety of environmental /climatic conditions.
Physical Demands
Medium work. No more than 50 pounds with frequent lifting of objects weighting up to 25 pounds.
