General Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to clean, sanitize, and perform custodian care within the company's various buildings to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
The normal hours for this position are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs general daily cleaning of offices, bathrooms and break rooms by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and emptying trash.
- Stocks restrooms, breakrooms, and kitchen areas with appropriate supplies.
- Performs deep cleaning by shampooing carpets, waxing floors, oiling woodwork and washing windows, when scheduled.
- Commits to performing job tasks in a manner that ensures a safe work environment.
- Promote Operation IDEA initiatives, encourage and support continual process improvement and cultivate an environment where employees are actively engaged in creating positive and memorable customer experiences.
- Willingly and cooperatively performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three months related experience and/or training.
- Must maintain a good driving record and a valid driver license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard custodial procedures and practices, cleaning products, chemicals and solutions.
- Ability to run floor maintenance equipment, such as high-speed buffer and carpet shampooer.
- Ability to work evening, night and/or split shifts.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt quickly to changes in schedules and job priorities.
- Knowledge of company products/services, policies and procedures.
- Good listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Skill in prioritizing, completing multiple tasks, identifying problems and finding resolutions.
- Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Basic personal computer skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, perform under stress and achieve optimum results.
- Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines in accordance with company policy.
- Ability to read and interpret various formats of English language instruction such as operation manuals, labels for various cleaning and chemical agents, MSDS sheets.
- Demonstrates dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.
- Ability to effectively function as a team player and project a positive attitude.
- Able and willing to continue business skill development.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity including close vision and repetitive motions including lifting, bending, squatting, pushing and pulling.
- Occasionally may be required to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach overhead, and work in a confined area.
