What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior .NET Developer position at Pioneering Evolution?
POSITION DESCRIPTION : Pioneering Evolution is seeking a Junior Software Developer to support the development of a Marine Corps software platform's modernized .NET Core architecture. The Junior Developer will work under the guidance of senior team members, focusing on implementing new features, fixing bugs, and learning best practices in software development. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated developer to gain hands-on experience in cloud-based software engineering. This position requires a Secret Clearance and is based in the Washington D.C. metro area, with on-site requirements as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist in the development of .NET Core applications, working alongside senior developers.
- Write and maintain C# code, following best practices and coding standards.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with backend services.
- Work with SQL databases (AWS RDS - SQL Server, PostgreSQL), writing queries and learning optimization techniques.
- Participate in code reviews, receiving feedback and learning from more experienced developers.
- Troubleshoot bugs and contribute to debugging and software testing efforts.
- Develop foundational .NET Core programming skills by assisting senior developers in feature implementations and debugging tasks.
- Work towards independent development of small-scale features, progressively increasing technical responsibility.
- Actively participate in technical discussions, seeking mentorship and expanding expertise in cloud-based development.
