What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Ops Technician position at Pioneers Medical Center?
Reports To : Director of Plant OpsFLASA Classification : Full-Time, Non exempt, Hourly Essential Functions- Receive and follow maintenance schedule / instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in the maintenance policies and procedures.- Perform routine floor finishing, maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as necessary / directed.- Performs routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include, plumbing, plastering, electrical carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, and in accordance with established procedure.- Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service- Maintain general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment- Clean windows, screens, light fixture lenses and spot shampoos carpets as directed.- Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and assists housekeeping in performing cleaning in very high places.- Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift / area.- Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for patient and resident comfort and convenience.- Ensure maintenance supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary, including oxygen supplies and exchanging oxygen bottles as necessary.- Ensure work areas are free of hazardous conditions, i.e. grease / oil spills, excess supplies, equipment etc., to assure that all establish safety rules and regulations are followed at all times.- Follow established policies and procedures concerning infection control and standard precautions when performing maintenance services in isolation rooms / areas.- Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent required.- Must be at least 18 years of age.- Previous experience not required; on the job training providedSkills and Expectations- Kind and professional demeanor.- Professional and well-groomed appearance at all times.- Communicate positively and effectively, both written and verbally, with patients, family, and staff.- Demonstrate effective organizational skills in an evolving environment.- Work with honesty, compassion and integrity at all times.- Understand and adhere to the scope of service for the department and this position.- Understand and adhere to all of PMC's policies and procedures.- Understand and adhere to PMC's Code of Conduct.- Adhere to the strictest confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.- Demonstrate a commitment to building and sustaining a diverse, inclusive, and equitable working environment.- Ability to remain calm and efficient in emergency situations.- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.- Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
