Production Coordinator
The Production Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient flow of jobs through the print shop’s production process. This position is central to meeting production deadlines by coordinating schedules, prioritizing tasks across departments, and facilitating communication among teams. While not directly managing individual departments, the Production Coordinator is crucial in aligning efforts to deliver high-quality products on time.
Key Responsibilities Production Scheduling and Coordination
- Develop and maintain a master production schedule to ensure jobs move efficiently from start to finish.
- Coordinate with Graphics, Customer Service, Printing, Bindery, and Delivery teams to prioritize work based on deadlines and production capacity.
- Monitor job progress at each stage of production, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to keep jobs on schedule.
Communication and Collaboration
Serve as the central point of communication for production updates, ensuring all departments are aligned.Work closely with the Customer Service team to ensure client deadlines and quality expectations are met.Provide job status updates to the General Manager and other stakeholders as needed.Job Tracking and Problem-Solving
Track all jobs through the production process, promptly identifying and resolving delays or issues.Collaborate with department leads to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges.Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance production efficiency.Work with teams to implement best practices and optimize job flow.Quality Assurance Support
Coordinate with departments to ensure jobs meet quality standards at every stage of production.Ensure completed jobs are reviewed for quality before delivery to the client.Qualifications and Skills Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in production coordination, print production, or a related role.Knowledge
Familiarity with print production processes, including prepress, printing, bindery, and delivery.Skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in production management software and tools.Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Production Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.Key Attributes
