Equipment Operator
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the requirements of their assigned equipment and machinery to maintain a safe and efficient operation
- Provide the details accurately and timely on all daily reports
- Delegate and coordinate the activities of general labor employee(s) to assure effective and efficient operation of their assigned equipment
- Report any-and-all safety, or operational non-conformance to the Foreman as they occur.
- Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
- Provide general service to the equipment and tools as required for proper maintenance and care. Alert Foreman of any service outside the scope of their training or ability to perform
- Resolve and communicate to the Foreman any problems as they arise
- Submit daily reports as required to Foreman
- Train General Labor employees on the use and back-up of the equipment.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as Construction/Field
- In-depth knowledge of procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems as they apply to the equipment
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Ability to obtain an employer paid CDL within 6 months of employment
- Good physical condition and stamina
- High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
- Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time
- Effective Communication Skills
