Position Summary
The general role for the IT Security includes safeguarding an organization's digital assets, and IT physical assets. It shall be noted that PIPECARE has Subsidiaries around the world and responsibility of the IT Security Engineer is to ensure that all IT tasks and projects are executed according to the plan, IT strategy and policy approved by the Corporate Office. In essence, an IT Security Engineer is a vital defender of an organization's digital infrastructure, working to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats.
Security System Design and Implementation:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect IT infrastructure.
- Configuring and managing security tools (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, etc.).
- Planning and implementing security upgrades.
- Monitoring systems for vulnerabilities and threats.
- Conducting regular security assessments and audits.
- Performing penetration testing and vulnerability scanning.
- Responding to security incidents and breaches.
- Analyzing security logs and network traffic to detect suspicious activity.
- Developing and implementing incident response plans.
- Ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
- Developing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and controls.
- Promoting security awareness among employees.
- Staying up to date with the latest security technologies and trends.
- Creating security tools and processes for scanning, testing, monitoring, and reporting.
- Working with other IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all systems.
- Communicating security risks and recommendations to stakeholders.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
- Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
- Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
- Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
- Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
