Job Overview
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the control, traceability, and security of all materials utilized in production for the division. This position is responsible for organizing cycle counts and setting up bin locations. The Inventory Specialist is also in charge of overseeing vendor and intercompany shipments.
Duties
- Organizing designated warehouse in such manner to ensure traceability, security and quick access in order to best support production while ensuring the serviceability of the material until it is placed into production.
- Oversight of incoming material: all incoming materials will be checked against the packaging list to ensure the correct quantity and type. A detailed comparison will be made between purchase orders, material test reports (MTR) and the material to ensure the correct quantity, grade, and size. Purchasing & Compliance Specialist will be notified of the results of the comparison. Traceability and security of the material will be the priorities until these assets are placed into production.
- Oversight of all material for traceability and protection: Establish and maintain an inventory of surplus materials, protect that material to ensure serviceability prior to being paced onto production.
- Coordinates outbound vendor and intercompany shipments: work closely with Project Manager/Shop Foreman to identify the outbound shipping requirements. Ensure that the proper transportation is slated for outbound shipments. Ensure that those shipments are properly protected and secured prior to loading on commercial transportation.
- Cross check any stock requests from purchasing.
- Receives bill of materials from Shop Foreman and works to pull identified parts for job related projects.
- Ensure heat numbers on packing list match and is written on purchase order.
- Create shipping labels for outbound shipping (FedEx/UPS).
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain or warehouse management is preferred.
- Operating forklift
- Knowledge of MRP systems and their application in inventory control.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and team members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
