Title: Process Technician
Reports to: Pipe Production Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary:
The Process Technician oversees and performs the preventive and reactive maintenance duties required for the manufacturing operations. The Process Tech also leads all processing/ trouble shooting of new materials and equipment, changeovers and training. Priorities of Process Tech include management and execution of the production schedules to ensure changeovers are completed in a timely manner. This position requires flexibility to work 40 hours per week, weekends as required.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
• Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Plant Manager
• Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance
• Maintain housekeeping facility
• Maintain adequate inventories of spare parts and equipment for changeovers
• Ensure that all equipment is kept in a proper and safe working condition
• Direct and ensure that all scheduled Preventive Maintenance duties are completed during changeovers
• Communicate with all plant personnel
• Maintain all the tooling needed for all lines within the given facility.
• Communication with PLP support services
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment that is not operating properly
• Assist with PLP support service team projects
• Effectively manage UPTIME performance
• Understand and practice PLP CORE VALUES
• Adhere to ISO 9001
• Other duties as assigned
Job Skills:
This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
• Working knowledge of industrial mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting
• Understanding of PLP manufacturing process including troubleshooting
• Ability to process/ trouble shoot PE materials
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnel
• Strong computer skills
• Inventory management
• Strong time management and task prioritization skills
• Facility organization
• Strong understanding of plastic polymers processing
Preferred Experience:
• 3-5 years’ experience as line operator or similar training and experience
• BS in Process Technology
• Prior maintenance management or supervision preferred
• BS in Process Technology
• Process Technician experience
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
• Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
