Title: Production Manager Reports to: Plant Manager FLSA: Exempt Location: All Department: Production Direct Reports: Hourly Pipe Manufacturing Employees Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for but not limited to all daily activities within the pipe plant including production functions, plant organization, safety, housekeeping and other duties as required. The Production Manager shall also be responsible for all plant personnel including hiring, employee development, terminations and disciplinary actions. This position requires the flexibility to work 40 hours per week and weekends as required. Primary Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
- Raw material inventory and management
- Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Plant Manager
- Minimum monthly material variance of $10K with a maximum of 5% annually variance
- Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance
- Maintain PLP product sampling schedule for QA
- Meet or exceed facility housekeeping expectations
- Create and review production reports and trend results
- Maintain and build job skills through company and outside training programs
- Ensure that all quality specs are met daily
- Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all production lines
- Scheduling of weekly production and tooling changeovers
- Tooling scheduling and management
- Troubleshoot all equipment/process problems
- QA maintenance and compliance
- Manage and train personnel in production of HDPE pipe
- Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, Icertification requirements
- Ensure proper personnel administration
- Other duties as assigned
- Facilitation of personnel training for employees

- Complete knowledge of all PLP products
- Strong working knowledge of HDPE pipe production
o Operating system knowledge including Inventory and Production functions - Mechanical Aptitude
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or college degree preferred
Preferred Experience:
- Supervisory training or related experience
- 8 years HDPE pipe extrusion experience
- Basic industrial maintenance/mechanical training or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
