Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience using QuickBooks for bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping & Data Entry:
- Record and categorize financial transactions using QuickBooks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions in QuickBooks.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements using QuickBooks.
- Generate reports to track expenses, revenue, and other financial activities.
- Provide support in the preparation of financial statements for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
- Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.
- Ensure that all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Payroll:
- Process payroll using QuickBooks or other payroll software, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Manage payroll taxes and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Tax Compliance:
- Assist with tax filings, ensuring all applicable taxes are paid on time and properly recorded in QuickBooks.
- Stay informed about tax laws and accounting regulations to ensure compliance.
- Process Improvement & Reporting:
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Audit & Support:
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Other Duties:
- Assist with ad-hoc accounting and financial tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with hands-on experience using QuickBooks.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel or other accounting software is a plus.
