Project Manager (Cerner/EMR)

Piper Companies is seeking a Project Manager (Cerner/EMR) for a large healthcare organization in Pennsylvania. This is a 12 month contract opportunity with potential to extend or convert and is a REMOTE role (must be based in Eastern time zone).

Requirements:

• Oversee the successful implementation and management of EMR and clinical application projects across a multi-hospital healthcare system, with a focus on Cerner Millennium upgrades, new applications, and related system integrations.
• Create and manage detailed project plans, ensuring that key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables are consistently met.
• Facilitate collaboration across IT departments, business units, and external vendors to ensure effective project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
• Monitor vendor progress, ensuring timelines are met and milestones are achieved while addressing risks and escalating issues as necessary.
• Prepare and deliver high-level executive reports, status updates, and risk assessments to keep leadership informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Must have hands-on experience with Cerner Millennium, including its implementation and upgrades, as well as integrations with other healthcare applications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, large-scale projects that involve multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Strong background in managing vendor relationships and ensuring successful outcomes.
• Expertise in risk management and issue resolution, with a focus on delivering executive-level reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and driving decisions with stakeholders at all levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Continuity, or a similar field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Industry certifications such as PMP are highly desirable.
  
  

Compensation:

• Hourly pay rate: $65.00 - $78.00 *depending on experience*
