Salary Expectations: $160,000 - $180,000 bonus

Piper Maddox are retained by one of the nations largest utilities supporting their expansion of a highly complex finance function. They are searching for a Director of Financial Reporting to oversee both their internal and external reporting functions.

Servicing over 4m people, and hundreds of millions of tourists a year, their main goal is to ensure the transition to clean energy by meeting 100% renewable energy goals.

What you will do:

• Oversee both internal and external reporting teams for the entire organization ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.), internal controls, and regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
• Work closely with other departments (e.g., FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal) to ensure alignment of financial reporting with corporate strategy and goals.

What you will have:

• Ideally a blend of experience within public accounting and public based companies overseeing complex reporting requirements.
• Utilities experience is ideal, however experience in highly regulated industries could overlap (pharma, medtech, government, aviation).
• Advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS), financial consolidation, and internal control processes. Proficiency in financial software systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and Excel.
• Management experience is ideal, with matrix management being preferred.
• CPA ideal but not a must.
