EHS Compliance Specialist

Job Summary
Piper Maddox is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Safety Specialist to join our team. This key role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, promoting a safe and healthy work environment, and managing risk across site operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure the organization complies with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular audits to verify compliance and recommend improvements.
• Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
• Develop and maintain risk management plans and safety protocols.
• Design and deliver project site-specific orientation training programs for all project staff.
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
• Document findings and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and update emergency response plans.
• Conduct drills and ensure readiness for various emergency scenarios.
• Oversee waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain accurate records of all EHS activities, incidents, and compliance efforts.
• Prepare reports for management, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders.
• Conduct routine safety audits and document according to company standards.
• Lead initiatives to improve EHS performance, including implementing new technologies or practices.
