Senior Electrical Engineer - Hardware Development Team

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who is knowledgeable in several electrical engineering disciplines, including electrical design, engineering documentation, SLD / schematic creation, component and device selection, and performing Engineering Verification Testing in the lab.
Primary Responsibilities
Sustaining Engineering activities as needed to support legacy products installed in the field. Troubleshoot, identify root cause, provide options to resolve.
Design, document, and verify circuits for energy storage systems and subsystems
Develop test specifications for design verification
Provide content for end-user documentation
Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with power supplies and communication circuits
Experience specifying and selecting components such as relays, circuit breakers, fuses, power supplies, UPS units, cables, and connectors
Familiarity with AC voltage theory – single phase, three phase, and transformers
Experience with DC components and circuits is desirable
Proficient in reading electrical drawings and circuit schematics
Proficient in creating system level wiring diagrams and other one-line diagrams
Cable assembly specification and design
Experience with battery and power equipment is preferred
Evaluation and qualification of 3rd party equipment
Capable of performing short-circuit analysis and overcurrent protection coordination studies
Knowledge of ETAP modeling software highly desirable
PLC design experience is highly desirable
Communications experience involving network switches and protocols / standards such as CAN, TCP, RS-485, and ModBus
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
8 years direct involvement in analog, power and digital circuit design
Systems Integration and / or Systems Engineering experience is preferred
