What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNA-M position at PIPER SHORES?

CNA-Ms serve in our 40 bed Skilled Nursing (Nursing Home), which is top-rated by the Us News & World Report and is a nationally recognized 5-star facility by CMS. Responsibilities:
- Safely prepares, administers, and charts oral, topical, and suppository drugs.
- Records administration of the medication on resident’s in electronic medication administration record. Discards medication refused or otherwise not given and records on medication administration record. Reports refused or not given medication to charge nurse.
- Reports medication errors or reactions to medications immediately to the charge nurse, who, in turn, reports to the resident’s attending physician and DON and completes the necessary documentation.
- Performs accurate pulse and blood pressure and recognizes their significance in drug therapy.
- Encourages participation in events and activities.
- Utilizes specialized training to communicate with residents experiencing dementia.
- Serves as a warm and friendly companion to residents within all levels of care.
- Perform CNA duties.
Qualifications:
- Maine CNA-M certification required. Piper Shores will sponsor payment of a training program for candidates without a current certification.
- Experience working with a senior population preferred; will provide training to entry-level candidates. Warm and friendly demeanor with a positive approach to interacting with Seniors and co-workers. Ability to stand and move for extended period of time, ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently required. All bed lifts are completed using mechanical lifts.

Shifts:
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 6a-2p
