OBJECTIVE:
Help produce financial information for farrow to wean producers by maintaining and performing daily accounting tasks which include reconciling accounts, preparing reports, cash management and reviewing profitability statements. Along with responsible for obtaining proper approval and coding of invoices, entering A/P system, printing checks, mailing to vendors in a timely fashion for multiple entities. Strict attention to detail and multitask is essential in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as assigned)
Education:
Two year or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Experience:
1-year accounting and/or equivalent to experience
Detail oriented and highly organized
Basic understanding of tax/cash basis accounting
Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
Analytical mind with proven ability to problem solve
Competency in Microsoft Office
Work Environment:
Office setting (Pipestone, MN or Brandon, SD)
Physical Requirements:
Detail oriented and highly organized
Proven ability to work in a team environment
Proven ability to problem solve
Additional Requirements:
Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to work and attend meetings

- Must have experience working in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize with solid organizational skills
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a fast-paced progressive management team and meet deadlines
- Maintain financial records associated with farrow to wean hog producers.
- Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable; inventory; prepaid expenses; fixed assets and depreciation, other assets, accounts payable, and accrued expenses.
- Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements required under standard operating procedures.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
- Ensure cost tracking of projects at farms and capitalization/expensing.
- Variance analysis
- Year-end close (prepare info for tax preparers and answer questions)
- Assist with other accounting projects, as necessary
