What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Supervisor position at PIPESTONE?
Objective:
Oversee all new projects that will be under construction.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Oversight of project plans and implementation
- Assist with design of new projects from initial rough drawings to finalized drawings, project specifications, request of bid from contractor, review bids for accuracy and completeness.
- Occasionally design project layout and acquire needed materials to complete specified project
- Job site inspections to ensure project specifications are being followed and Pipestone quality standards are being met.
- Ensure that all projects for which they are responsible are carried out efficiently
- Monitors construction, schedule, and quality control
- Provide guidance and technical support to resolve construction problems
- Support design engineering phase of projects
- Support negotiations with clients and suppliers
- Weekly reporting to the Asset management team and additional team members as determined.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities within the Repairs & Maintenance department in accordance with all policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- BS Degree with an agricultural or construction management focus preferred.
- 3 β 4 years of construction/maintenance experience or post-secondary education/training in these fields may be substituted for BS degree, preferred.
Work Environment
- Agricultural swine environment in rural area
- Noise levels that require hearing protection in some areas
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneeling
- Frequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull
- Frequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 pounds
- Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths
Additional Requirements:

- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to work
- Some travel required
Compensation/Benefits:

$70,000-$100,000 base salary, depending on experience
