Logistics Coordinator
Pipestone seeks a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to improve logistical processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies while ensuring exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate transportation of feed ingredients, ensuring prompt, efficient, and cost-effective movements to meet customer needs and expectations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding freight status, delivery schedules, and arrival times.
- Review all purchase orders for accuracy and learn to utilize the Sage system to enter trucking purchase orders and confirm all freight costs.
- Communicate with order takers to provide timely updates on shipment and delivery schedules and generate and manage all required paperwork for vendors.
- Audit freight invoices to ensure alignment with quoted prices and manage distribution and shipment budgets.
- Continuously evaluate and develop smoother, more efficient processes within the feed ingredient supply chain.
- Partner with brokers, independent trucking companies, and LTL carriers to negotiate competitive freight rates and optimize shipping volumes and routes.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience coordinating FTL and LTL shipments with brokers and carriers.
- Experience with reviewing, generating, and processing purchase orders and invoices.
- Skilled with logistics software and Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work beyond regular hours in emergency situations.
Work Environment:
Hybrid/Office setting (Pipestone, MN-Brandon, SD-Orange City, IA-Independence, IA-DeKalb, IL)
Physical Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to work and attend meetings.
