PipeView is a leading provider of sewer and stormwater cleaning and surveying services. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing robotic inspection systems and specialized cameras used for underground sewer and stormwater infrastructure inspection.

As a key member of our technical team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our robotic equipment and camera systems are fully operational and ready for deployment. Your expertise will contribute directly to our ability to provide accurate, efficient, and reliable survey data for our clients.

You may be asked to work evenings or on weekends.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintenance & Repairs : Diagnose, repair, and maintain robotic inspection units, camera systems, and associated equipment (e.g., remote-controlled crawlers, pan-and-tilt cameras, cable systems).
  • Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve issues with robotic hardware, software, electrical components, and camera functionality in the field or in the workshop.
  • Calibration : Perform regular calibration and testing of robotic equipment to ensure high-quality data capture during inspections.
  • Upgrades & Modifications : Implement hardware and software upgrades, and modify equipment as needed to enhance performance or meet customer specifications.
  • Equipment Testing : Conduct detailed inspections, functionality tests, and performance assessments on all robotic and camera equipment before and after each use.
  • Field Support : Provide technical support during field operations, which may include on-site troubleshooting, calibration, or immediate repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate records of equipment service history, repair logs, and parts inventory. Ensure all repairs comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety & Compliance : Follow all safety protocols and maintain safe working conditions, ensuring that equipment meets industry standards and regulations.
  • Qualifications :
  • Education :
  • Associate's degree or equivalent technical training in robotics, electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience :
  • Proven experience in repairing and maintaining robotic systems, remote cameras, or similar technical equipment, preferably in an industrial, surveying, or sewer cleaning context.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and electric-driven robotic systems, CCTV systems, and related field equipment.
  • Familiarity with tools and software used for diagnostics and repair of robotics and camera systems.
  • Skills & Competencies :
  • Strong understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software-based issues in complex systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with field technicians and team members.
  • Certifications (Optional but Preferred) :
  • Certification in robotics, electronics, or related technical fields.
  • Valid driver’s license (with clean driving record) and the ability to operate company vehicles as needed.
  • Physical Requirements :
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
