What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at Piping Rock?
Essence of the role (Role’s Purpose): A Long Island based organization is looking for a Cost Accountant to join its growing team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing, fast-paced environment as an industry leader.
Recipe for Success (Responsibilities):• Assist in month-end and quarterly closings.• Assist in cycle count observations with external auditors.• Assist in Roll forward all inventory types monthly.• Assist in COGS reconciliation.• Inventory reserve analysis.• Assist in audits.• Co-packer and co-manufacturer reconciliation.• PPV analysis.• Analyze manufacturing costs.• Review inventory transactions.• Prepare and analyze cost reports.• Responsible for maintaining the inventory package and supporting schedules.• Additional duties as assigned
Ingredients Required (Qualifications):• Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of Pivot Tables and accounting software (NetSuite).• Attention to detail.• Good organizational skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
