Essence of the role (Role’s Purpose):The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for Piping Rock’s full cycle payroll process across multiple facilities and states. The successful candidate will have prior experience managing all aspects of payroll, general payroll tax compliance knowledge, as well as demonstrated analytical abilities.     Recipe for Success (Responsibilities):•    Complete weekly payroll processing from start to finish•    Monitor flow and approval of time sheets•    Process all child support, garnishment, and 3rd party sick pay notices•    Process all data changes including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, position changes•    Coordinate all aspects of 401(k) uploads/downloads to ensure compliance with regulations and company policy•    Support all Piping Rock locations with payroll questions/processing when needed•    Ensure proper registration of employees’ working states including withholding and unemployment accounts and maintain any state reporting/documentation requirements•    Ensure company payroll policies are accurately applied•    Audit payroll deductions and ensure accuracy•    Maintain all payroll supporting records•    Support business by providing requested payroll reports and analysis•    Handle payroll audits, tax audits, reconciliations, and payroll related projects as they arise•    Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies•    Document and maintain procedures and checklists for payroll functions•    Participate in overall maintenance of HRIS•    Back up support to HR Connect•    Support HR Department with various projects and responsibilities, as necessary•    Additional duties as assigned     Ingredients Required (Qualifications):•    3 years of complete payroll cycle administration•    Working knowledge of federal and multi-state regulations and applicable tax laws•    General knowledge of human resources management policies and regulations•    Experience utilizing timekeeping and payroll processing systems•    Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or similar field preferred•    High attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment•    Proficient in Microsoft Office•    Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication skills •    Ability to always maintain a professional demeanor•    Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner•    Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training On site 2-3 times a week.    We proudly offer: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with Company Match, Pet insurance and more!
