Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician ensures safe, efficient, and continuous operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Reporting Structure
Directly reports to Maintenance Supervisor
Roles and Responsibilities
- Uses hand tools, power tools and delicate testing equipment in performance of duties
- Completes basic maintenance procedures with minimal supervision
- Complete complex Maintenance with limited supervision
- Completes maintenance request work orders for regulated and un-regulated systems
- Performs routine checks/inspection routes. Records equipment readings and changes chart paper.
- Effective documentation of Preventive Maintenance and Calibration under the GMP, development and research umbrella
- Complete Equipment Activation following established procedure
- Schedule self-performed work assigned at beginning of month and due by end of month
- Schedules and escorts contractors through facility for routine deliveries or inspections. Ensuring they complete activities per procedure or agreements
- Recommend facility improvements to meet OSHA safety, ISPE or FDA guidelines
- Creation of maintenance procedures, and updating existing procedures to match best practices and lessons learned
- Identifies and orders spare or replacement parts for equipment utilizing inventory management system.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Educational Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent, advanced technical certification preferred
Experience
2-4 years’ experience in industrial maintenance supporting a manufacturing facility, preferably in a cGMP related environment
Competencies
- Demonstrated mechanical ability
- Knowledge and application of HVAC systems, including clean steam/boiler, preferred
- Knowledge and application of high purity water systems, preferred
- Knowledge and application of clean room technology and certification, preferred
- Electrical/electronic repair/troubleshooting experience, preferred
- Knowledge and application of PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferred
- Knowledge and application of bioreactors, CIP cleaning systems and autoclaves
- General facility repair, maintenance and up-keep experience, preferred
- Ability to use Excel, Word, and other office systems.
- Ability to cross-train on techniques across multiple groups.
- Ability to read architectural, Mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings.
