Position Overview:
As the Finance Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and enhancing our financial processes. You will be responsible for managing payroll, month-end close activities, tax reporting, and fixed asset management, among other key responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee payroll on a bi-weekly basis, handling exceptions, troubleshooting issues, and improving the interface between ADP and SAP.
- Monitor and collaborate with ADP to resolve errors, process garnishments, and ensure accurate implementation of all benefit changes.
- Ensure state employment tax reporting is structured correctly and remains current for all states where employees reside.
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, payables, and customer invoicing, adhering to a one-day deadline.
- Calculate and submit monthly Use Tax forms to the State.
- Track and submit all tax form 1099s, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Stay updated on changing tax laws and assess their impact on our business to ensure compliance with all laws and deadlines.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations, analyze variances, improve procedures, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage cross charges for ADP, regional operations, and Business Development across various sites.
- Review GRIR (Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt) and clean up entries on a quarterly basis.
- Record all incoming collections and collaborate with shared services for accurate accounting.
- Track and maintain all fixed assets, including tagging, disposing, and monitoring physical locations.
- Provide third-party financial reporting and analysis as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in SAP and ADP systems; experience with other financial software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
