Position Summary:

The Laser Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of laser equipment. This role involves ensuring laser systems are functioning properly, conducting routine calibration, troubleshooting issues, and supporting technical operations to meet production or research goals. The laser technician will also assist in setting up and optimizing laser systems, as well as ensuring safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure laser equipment according to specifications and operational requirements.
  • Operate laser systems and associated equipment for various applications, such as material processing, testing, or diagnostics.
  • Monitor the performance of laser systems, ensuring consistent quality and output.
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and calibration of laser equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to laser equipment, optics, power supplies, and control systems.
  • Replace faulty components and perform repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct tests to assess the performance of laser systems, ensuring they meet operational standards.
  • Maintain records of laser system performance, including test results, calibration logs, and maintenance schedules.
  • Adjust settings and parameters based on test results to optimize system performance and quality

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Associate’s degree in Laser Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 2 years of experience working with lasers or related technologies (e.g., optical systems, fiber optics).
  • Experience in laser maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of laser safety standards and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Training in specific types of lasers or laser systems (e.g., industrial lasers) is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time
