What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Specialist position at Piscataqua Landscaping & Tree Service?
Our company is seeking an HR Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a previous HR role, with payroll experience highly preferred. As an HR Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to our HR team and ensuring that our employees are well taken care of. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for assisting in a variety of HR-focused areas, including but not limited to : recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations and engagement, and payroll. The HRS is consistent with our human resources policies and procedures and will provide excellent customer service to all staff. They will use our Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains a consistent and positive attendance pattern.
- Supports recruitment efforts by assisting with job postings, career fairs, tracking new candidate applications through the recruitment cycle, and the interview process.
- Holds team member orientation to ensure each employee feels welcomed into our family.
- Enters employee status and pay changes into our HRIS.
- Assists employees with benefits enrollment and management, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, and supplemental offerings.
- Reviews and approves 401K contributions changes, distribution requests and / or loans.
- Works closely with HR team to plan and coordinates company outings and other activities to support our exceptional team of people.
- Ensures legal compliance with both internal and external policies, rules, postings, and regulations.
- Manages worker's compensation program - including reporting injuries, light duty, wage reporting, and monitoring claims.
- Tracks all worker's compensation in our OSHA log.
- Oversees ACA Dashboard and benefit offerings for all employees.
- Oversees the CDL Driver Clearinghouse Portal, Random testing, and any other FMCSA requirements, company-wide.
- Works closely and meets with the HR team on a weekly basis to ensure company initiatives are being met.
- Manages employee payroll processing, including data entry, deductions, wage calculations and taxes.
