Substance Use Disorder Counselor - CADC-I, CADC, LCAS

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction counseling and a commitment to helping individuals overcome substance use disorders. This role involves providing support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions to clients struggling with addiction, ensuring they receive the necessary care to achieve recovery.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide addiction counseling utilizing evidence-based practices, including motivational interviewing and group therapy.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions to encourage peer support and sharing of experiences among clients.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available resources.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers and mental health counselors, to provide holistic care.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in addiction medicine and treatment methodologies.

Qualifications

• CADC-I, CADC, LCAS, LCAS-A, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
• Certification or licensure in addiction counseling (CADC-I, CADC, LCAS, LCAS-A) is required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding related to substance use disorders.
• Experience in home community care settings is a plus.
• Familiarity with PTSD care practices is beneficial.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficient in motivational interviewing techniques and group therapy facilitation.
• Understanding of mental health counseling principles as they relate to substance abuse treatment.
