Piston Automotive is seeking a Warehouse Superintendent
The Warehouse Superintendent will oversee materials operation in our automotive assembly plants JIT, ILVS, and Sequencing environment. The role focuses on inventory management, shipment coordination, and efficient material flow to support lean manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the delicate balance of our JIT system, minimizing inventory while ensuring production continuity. This position is critical in synchronizing our supply chain with production demands, managing sequenced deliveries, and optimizing warehouse operations to support our high-volume, high-mix automotive assembly line.
The Warehouse Superintendent will manage outbound logistics for finished goods, and implement advanced sequencing strategies. The Warehouse Superindent will play a pivotal role in our continuous improvement initiatives, driving efficiency through data-driven decision-making and lean methodologies. They will also be expected to collaborate closely with production planning, quality control, and supplier management teams to maintain the integrity of our JIT and sequencing processes, ultimately contributing to reduced lead times, minimized inventory costs, and enhanced overall plant productivity.

Responsibilities
- Lead three direct Warehouse Supervisor reports and oversee the entire warehouse operations team consisting of Material Techs and Forklift Drivers.
- Supervise, assign, and review the work of employees engaged in shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventories of components and finished goods.
- Develop and track KPIs to monitor warehouse activity performance.
- Maintain accurate records of goods received, released, and shipped.
- Ensure adherence to procedures, work instructions, and forms related to warehouse operations.
- Direct resources to support cycle counting activities.
- Implement basic lean methodologies such as 5s, visual management, kanban systems, and workplace organization.
- Collaborate with various functions to implement materials continuous improvement projects.
- Review plant layout to ensure all containers and materials are placed in proper locations, optimizing the JIT and sequencing processes.
- Utilize and train others on the MRP/ERP system to track inventory, resolve inventory and shipping discrepancies, and to ensure shipping requirements are met
- Assist in physical inventory activities and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Implement and maintain Just-In-Sequence (JIS) processes to optimize production efficiency and reduce inventory levels.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of parts in the correct sequence for assembly.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce lead times and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (Associate degree with extensive experience may be considered).
- Minimum of 8 eight years of experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or related position in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with JIT, ILVS, and Sequencing methodologies in automotive assembly.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and advanced experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth understanding of automotive inventory management and supply chain processes.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining quality control measures in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds frequently.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
