Job Summary

Assist Production Management to meet the scheduled production numbers on a daily basis. This position will participate in all aspects of maintaining a high level of productivity by monitoring, assisting, and training (cross-train) personnel as required to meet set goals. Working with the appropriate resources to perform daily inspections for product quality and line equipment is essential to this position, and assuring that personnel are adhering to the company’s good manufacturing practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work with Production Manager to cultivate employee relations: provide employee coaching and development including performance evaluations, identify the needs of employees, and assist employees in the improvement of their knowledge or skills.

Develop motivated team members that possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment without sacrifice to safety, quality, or detail.

Maintain clean and safe work area, including aisles, tooling, and machines.

Exhibit positive and professional interpersonal skills including cross-departmental cooperation.

Collaborate with all departments to meet production goals and coordinate new product introduction.

Perform accident investigations.

Maintain proper inventory levels to minimize excess material on floor and ensure proper availability of operation supplies and equipment.

Responsible for traceability and inventory control of materials, tools, associated paperwork, and record keeping.

Understand and apply key performance metrics of hours per unit, inventory control, scrap.

Practice cross-training to ensure self and direct reports have the skills necessary to perform various job functions within the organization and to develop/maintain product knowledge.

Continuously maintain best practices of safety, quality, productivity, and work culture.

Facilitate daily production meeting with direct reports to communicate safety expectations and production goals, which includes build goals, quality level goals, and cycle count completion goals.

Adhere to all departmental and company-wide safety and procedural policies including all Quality Management Standards (QMS), Hazardous Communications (HAZCOM), and lock out/tag out, and supervise in support of compliance expectations.

Manage self and direct reports to company policies and business goals through leadership by example.

Maintain confidentiality in all situations.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associates degree in business or related field preferred.

Must have at least one year of experience in a production environment.

Ability to write correspondence and verbally present information. Ability to read, converse, and understand technical English. Ability to use English words and phrases to write sentences.

Reasoning Ability
