The purpose of this position is to provide direct and on-going support to the Cultural Arts & Recreation Department’s initiatives, oversee and manage the department's administrative functions, and support the Cultural Arts & Recreation management staff in achieving their initiatives. This position will require the coordination of adaptive recreation, sports programs, wellness programs and special events. This position will directly report to the Associate Director of Programming.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Support management staff in various tasks by formulating and executing administrative guidelines, processes, procedures, and policies.Oversee recreation program planning and organization by assigning part-time personnel and volunteers.Ensure program marketing materials are created and distributed; correspond and partner with other organizations and departments; and maintain and approve appropriate web page content for publication.Serve on committees and boards by attending various meetings and public events; represent the Cultural Arts & Recreation Department at various events.Present to various neighborhood associations, community groups, and organizations regarding departmental functions and services.Develop departmental reports; assist in monitoring the departmental budget by tracking revenues and expenditures; and assist staff with managing their respective budgets.Improve and establish administrative processes with other management personnel.Establish and nurture departmental partnerships.Create volunteer recruitment and retention initiatives.Identify grant opportunities; develop then submit applications.Create fundraising initiatives.Establish customer service standards throughout department.
