Summary:
Under the general direction of a principal, provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students. Provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to ensure all student needs are met, and maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of NCDPI and PCS. Provides quality standards-based instruction in the area of Career & Technical Education; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.
Paxton Patterson College & Career Readiness Labs provide hands-on, STEM-focused learning environments designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in fields such as healthcare, engineering, construction, IT, and more. These labs offer interactive, self-paced curriculum modules that engage students in real-world problem-solving and technical skill development. By integrating career exploration with practical experience, Paxton Patterson equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for success in both college and the workforce.
Essential Duties
Facilitate learning using the Paxton Patterson College & Career Ready Lab curriculum & activities.
Provides the bridge needed by all students to deal with major societal issues such as work-and-family, health care, child and elder care, family and community violence and crime, global economics and politics, and technology usage.
Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management
Participates in field trips to post-secondary institutes, worksites, businesses and hands-on workshops
Assist in development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative business and technology program
Develop community and industry partnerships for students
Terms of Employment: 10 months
Qualifications
