We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Removable / Model Department Technician to join our dental laboratory team. This role involves fabricating high-quality dental models and removable prosthetics, including dentures, partials, and night guards. The ideal candidate should have experience in model pouring, articulation, and removable prosthetic fabrication while ensuring precision and accuracy in all work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Department Duties:
- Pour and trim dental models from impressions using gypsum-based materials.
- Mount models on articulators according to prescriptions.
- Identify and mark anatomical landmarks for proper appliance fabrication.
- Ensure accuracy in occlusal relationships and model articulation.
- Removable Prosthetics Duties:
- Fabricate full and partial dentures, night guards, and other removable appliances.
- Set teeth for wax try-ins and process dentures through injection or pack-and-press techniques.
- Conduct finishing and polishing of removable appliances.
- Repair and reline existing dentures as needed.
- Work closely with dentists and technicians to ensure optimal fit and function of prosthetics.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in a dental laboratory, specifically in the removable/model department (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of gypsum materials, model articulation, and dental anatomy.
- Proficiency in removable prosthetic fabrication, including tooth setup, waxing, and processing.
- Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to follow prescriptions and lab protocols accurately.
- Good organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 1 years of experience in a dental lab setting (preferred).
