POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the YMCA facility and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and fully operational. This role supports the YMCA’s commitment to providing a welcoming and functional space for members, staff, and the community. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to upholding high facility standards in alignment with the YMCA’s mission and values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the facility, including pool, equipment, and general carpentry tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance and safety concerns.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
- Respond promptly to work orders, facility emergencies, and member concerns related to maintenance.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and outdoor maintenance.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment necessary for repairs and upkeep.
- Work collaboratively with other staff to support a safe and well-maintained environment.
- Follow all YMCA policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous experience in facility maintenance, repairs, or a related field required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the YMCA’s mission, values, and community impact.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and complete required YMCA trainings, such as Child Abuse and Neglect, CPR/First Aide/AED.
