What are the responsibilities and job description for the COE Assessment Coordinator position at Pittsburg State University Career Site Minimal?
Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for an Assessment Coordinator in the College of Education to manage the Quality Assurance System for the Education Unit to coordinate the Kansas state program review process and national accreditation (CAEP) efforts. This position manages and organizes the collection and dissemination of required data for all educator licensure programs at Pittsburg State University and organizes and manages the professional semester experience for teacher candidates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assessment and Data Management (75%)
- Manage the Teacher Education Quality Assurance System for state program review and national accreditation efforts.
- Create protocols and facilitate the collection of required data. Receive, process, and track annual data from faculty and program areas, students and completers, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct follow-up studies for College of Education program completers.
- Assist faculty in the creation of data collection instruments to ensure validity and reliability of assessments.
- Data Management: Collect, aggregate, and disaggregate data. Compile results, charts, and graphs that describe and interpret findings of analyses. Write reports.
- Maintain and update databases and websites.
- Disseminate, through written reports or professional presentations, aggregated and disaggregated data and information to appropriate stakeholders.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
Professional Semester Facilitation and Teaching (20%)
- Organize and facilitate the professional semester experience and teach courses as needed.
- Create and manage Course for student teachers in current LMS (Canvas).
- Conduct workshops regarding the Teacher Work Sample and other appropriate topics.
- Supervise student teachers as needed.
Other duties (5%)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support recruitment efforts as needed.
Education and Experience
Required Education and Experience at Hire -
- Master’s Degree in an area within the education unit or related field
- 3 years of experience with office software (word, excel, adobe, teams, google, zoom, etc.).
- 3 years of teaching or professional presentation experience
- 1 year of experience utilizing Learner Management systems (Canvas, WebCT, Blackboard, etc.)
Preferred Education and Experience -
- Ed.S., Ed.D., or Ph.D. in education field or related fields
- 1 year teaching experience in higher education
- 1 year experience creating and maintaining databases
- 1 year experience with CAEP reporting and state program review
- 1 year experience with standards-based assessment
