Job Description
Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Business Development Officer in the Division of Research and Economic Development the is responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing business and industry partners to utilize the specialized services of the National Institute for Materials Advancement (NIMA) and Pittsburg State University by actively supporting the business development team through the management of project initiatives, cultivation of client relationships, and strategic expansion of NIMA's client network and to drive outreach and foster collaborations across research, industry projects, and public policy initiatives, ensuring alignment with the division's overarching goals for strategic growth and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
50% - Business Development Team Support :
- Lead and manage select projects within the NIMA and Public Policy to ensure efficient and effective execution.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with key business contacts and clients by initiating partnerships, tracking engagement, and following up on leads.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with business contacts, managing logistics like dates, venues, and agendas.
- Provide operational support for business development within NIMA, addressing challenges, managing tasks, and ensuring team resources and information flow smoothly.
25% - Coordinate Meetings and Develop Briefing Materials :
20% - Identify and Screen Business Opportunities :
5% - Other duties as assigned
