Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Functional Analyst in the Department of Information Technology Services that is responsible for serving as the lead and subject matter expert for the technical maintenance and continuous improvement of the GUS Cloud Student Financial Planning (SFP) module, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies. This position is responsible for facilitating updates within Financial Aid Services, including quarterly updates, and coordinating with other Oracle system users. The analyst will assist subject matter experts in conducting operational and process analysis, making thoughtful, well-tested recommendations, and providing solutions. The focus will primarily be on SFP but requires working knowledge of other GUS Cloud modules to coordinate activities with subject matter experts across campus, particularly regarding reporting and updates, reimplementation, and consulting engagements (e.g., Sierra Cedar).
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting and Analytics – 30% (Essential)
- Use OBIEE and OTBI to create data models, reports, and analyses for Financial Aid Services and campus stakeholders
- Review and update reports, dashboards, and analytics as system upgrades evolve
- Document processes and provide training as needed
- Act as the subject matter expert and IT representative for PSU's SFP system
Upgrades, Maintenances, New Functionality and Service Requests– 35% (Essential)
- Participate in analysis and testing for patches, maintenance, new functionality, and release upgrades
- Coordinate updates with subject matter experts to ensure the continued functionality of GUS Cloud SFP
- Maintain a productive working relationship with Oracle support
- Manage service and enhancement requests for designated areas and collaborate with Oracle, subject matter experts, and campus users for sustainable solutions
Business Process Analysis, Design, Training, and Implementation – 25% (Essential)
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze and design financial aid processes
- Lead implementation tasks and document procedures
- Provide training sessions for financial aid staff and other campus users
- Act as security officer for the SFP module, coordinating role creation and permissions
Miscellaneous and Special Projects – 10% (Essential)
- Pursue ongoing learning and training opportunities to enhance system optimization Coordinate reporting requests for state and institutional compliance and other administrative needs
Education and Experience
Required Education and Experience - Time of Hire
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience creating data models, reports, and execute SQL statements
Preferred Education and Experience
- 1-year work-related experience with a Cloud-based system (e.g. Oracle, Workday) supporting functional users
- 1-year work-related experience with relational databases
- Experience in higher education computer systems
- Experience in financial aid computer systems
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Experience with OBIEE is preferred

Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000 annually
